Inuyasha
InuYasha is, of course, the main character of the series. His name translated means dog demon, which he is. He's stubborn at times and can seems heartless and self centered, but deep down he's a nice guy. He falls in love with Kikyou and he still is, even though she makes random attempts to kill him. He develops feelings for Kagome, which I better is better for him then Kikyou. He wants the Shikon no tama to become full demon, but it is said that he changes his mind and desides to become full human instead, I don't know it that's true or not. He slowly but surely brings out the full potenial of the Tetsusaiga and his powers throughout the series. His attack with his claws is sankon tetsusou, which means soul scattering iron claw. His attack using his own blood is hijin ketsusou, which means flying blade blood claws. His first attack with Tetsusaiga is Tetsuaiga, which means pulversing steel fang. His second attack with Tetsusaiga is kaze no kizu, which means wound of wind, I think. His final attack with Tetsusaiga is bakuryuuha, I don't know what it means yet. He transforms into full every night of the new moon, when it's invisible, when this happens he loses his demon powers and the ability to transform tetsusaiga. He transforms into full demon whenever Tetsusaiga is broken, when this happens he loses control and goes on a killing rampage.

Kagome, Sango, & Kirara
Kagome is the second main character in the series. She goes back in time through the well at her grandpa's shrine to find Inuyasha pinned to a tree. She was able to wake him up from his sleeping spell when Kagome was chased by that centipede demon. She pulled out the arrow that was in his chest, which freed him from the spell. Kaede, Kikyou's younger sister, put a necklace on him with spell that if Kagome uttered the word, he would fall to the ground. The word she chose was osuwari, sit in english. She starts to fall in love Inuyasha as the series progresses. She gets mad at him when she saw him and Kikyou kissing, which proves that she has feelings for him. She has Kikyou's priestess powers and she's getting better at firing arrows. A couple differen guys, besides Inuyasha, fall in love with her. Hojo is from her own era and Kouga is the wolf demon they meet up with later on. She tries to go to her era to pass school, but it doesn't work out too well.
Sango is the demon exterminator that they meet up with a bit after they learn the truth about Naraku. She tries to kill some demons that attack her village with the help of her little brother, Kohaku. Naraku takes control over him and uses him to attack her. Sango is injured badly, so Naraku gives her a shard of the Jewel. She battles with Inuyasha, thinking that he killed the people in her village. The group helps her heal after she understands the truth. She's pretty good at what she does. She helps the group out many times in battle. She uses a giant boomerrange and poison gas, which she wears the mask to protect herself from breathing it in. It takes her a while but she begins to fall for Miroku. She does get upset when he never asked her to bare his child but he asked Kagome. She joins up with group after they talk her into it. She seeks revenge on Naraku for using Kohaku as weapon against them which he still does, and for killing everyone in her village.
Kirara is Sango's pet. She is a cat demon that transforms into a huge, flying fire cat demon. She looks a bit like a fox when in her smaller form. When they learn the origin of Shikon no tama's creation, she fights with the demons when they came back to life inside the tomb of the creator of the Jewel. The creator of it is a woman and saves Kirara from the demons or at least her spirit did. At the end of that episode, the woman and Kirara are walking together, so Kirara most likely was her partner when she was alive.

Miroku & Shippou
Miroku met up with them after Kikyou was resurrected. He was going around stealing peoples belongings after saving them from a demon, curse, etc. and then sell the things he stole. He recieved a Shikon shard after killing a weasel demon. He steals Kagome's shard but they get it back, of course. He's a bit a pervert when it comes to good looking women. He asks Kagome to bare is children so if he dies before his curse is lifted, his child carry out his mission. His grandfather was cursed while fighting Naraku, which put a hole in his right hand. This curse will eventually swallow him up when it gets big enough. To lift the curse he must kill Naraku. Which is partly why he joins them to find Naraku. The curse, which he uses as a weapon along with his staff, is called Kazaana, which mean air rip. If he takes in too many objects, he gets tired and needs to wait a while before he can use it again. Naraku often uses vemonous wasps that go inside his hand and poison him, Kagome saves him from the first encounter. He can't use it as long as they're around.
Shippou is a young fox demen, who also steals they're shards, but only for like a couple minutes. He's pretty cowardly when it comes to fighting, but he'll help them out when it's really needed. He's a kitsune, which means fox. Kitsune's are tricky and have illusion powers. Shippou can shape shift and he can't hold it for too long. He basically only listens to Kagome. He mainly uses fox fire as a weapon, which is blue fire that burns, it's not too strong, though. His father, however uses fox fire to protect him and Kagome from the thunder brothers. Shippou stole their shards to avenege his father was killed by the thunder brothers.

Sesshoumaru, Kikyo, & Naraku
Sesshoumaru is Inuyasha's older brother. He is a full demon, unlike him. He used the nothing woman to pretend to Inuyasha's mother to lure him into giving him the tomb to their father's grave, which he did not know about. The tomb was a black pearl in his right eye, Inuyasha gets it back after they leave the tomb, though. Sesshoumaru attacks the group a few times in order to steal the Tetsausaiga from him. He used a Jewel shard and human arm that Naraku gives him to fight Inuyasha. He does lose that battle, so he got rid of the arm which had the shard in it. He has the sword that can heal instead of destory, which his father chose for him to have. Its name is Tenseiga, when means heavenly life fang. He uses it to revive Rin, a little girl that helps him get back to health after Inuyasha used the kaze no kizu on him. He does get a sword that destorys later on called the Toukijin, which means fierce fighting god. Using that sword, he breaks the Tetsusaiga, causing Inuyasha to go full demon. After reviving Rin, he lets her follow him, since her village was destoryed by Kouga's wolf pack. His attacks are dokkasou, which means poison flower claw, and a bright gree, glowing whip. He also can can transform into a huge dog, his true form, no doubt, which can breathe out poison.
Kikyou is the miko, priestess, that guarded the Shikon no tama when she was alive. She had it burn with when she died. She did love Inuyasha, but now that she still likes that he betrayed her, she wants him dead. She steals souls from dead humans to stay alive until she kills Inuyasha. Urasue is the demon that resurrect her to collect the Shikon shards for her, knowing she was a powerful priestess. Kikyou does kill her for bringing her back to life, which she did not want.
Naraku is the main villian of the series who tricks Inuyasha and Kikyou into thinking that they betrayed each other. He's only a half demon because was was created from Onigumo, who was human, and a bunch of demon that fused into his body. Naraku has a scar shaped like a spider on his back, probably got it from Onigumo. He doesn't fight that much, when he did, he used a poisoned gas that paralyzed Kirara. He sends out his 'puppets' to do his fighting for them, giving them Shikon shards to fight better and to control them. He uses many strong demons and/or humans to fight against Inuyasha and the group, but that never really works.
