Storyline
InuYasha has a great storyline to it, I think. A half demon, Inuyasha, takes the Shikon no tama to become full demon but Kikyou, the priestess guarding it, pins him to a tree with an arrow, sealing him there in eternal sleep. Fifty years later the riencarnation of Kikyou, Kagome, goes to the past and releases Inuyasha from the spell. Since Kikyou had the Shikon no tama burn with her body on the day she sealled Inuyasha to the tree, Kagome was born with it inside, without her knowing. Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha's brother, tries to steal their father's sword, Tetsuaiga, from him since the first time they fought and Inuyasha cutting off his left arm with it. Kikyou is later brang back from the dead and she seeks Inuyasha's death. Naraku tricks Inuyasha and Kikyou into hating each other in the past, which made Kikyou think it was Inuyasha. Inuyasha still has feelings for Kikyou but he also seems to like Kagome. They meet up with a cowardly kitsune name Shippou, a perverted monk named Miroku, and a demon exterminator Sango with her cat demon Kirara. On their journey to find Naraku and kill him, they are met with many challenges and obstacles. Will they ever kill Naraku? I can't wait to find out.

Setting
The setting is mostly in fuedel Japan, Inuyasha's era. The rest of the time it's in Kagome's era, the current time. I'm sure the exact time differences between the two era's but it's probadly a huge gap. It's near Tokyo, or in that area. In Inuyasha's era there's no electricity, they used fire for light. Means of transportation were by horse, steer, etc.. Demons, Gods, and spirits existed back then.

The writing is in Kanji, and the smaller writing is Hiragana. Kanji and Hirgana are two of the three different writings in Japanese. Both writings say InuYasha.

Shikon no tama
Shikon no tama is translated as jewel of four souls. In the english anime and manga they call it the Shikon Jewel. It's so powerful that just one tiny shard of it can increase a demon or human's power greatly. In the an episode a bit after the group meets Sango, they learn the origin and more about the Jewel. Kagome hit the Jewel on accident while trying to kill a demon crow that swallowed it, doing this made it spilt into a bunch of tiny shards, scattering all around Japan. InuYasha and Kagome gather the shards slowly but surely. Naraku, the main villan of the series, seems to have collected a lot of the shards. He uses them to control his 'puppets'. Both demons and humans go after the Jewel, to gain power, which is for evil. InuYasha wants the Jewel to become all demon but will he change his mind and want to become full human with the Jewel instead? We'll have to watch the whole series to find out.
Creator of InuYasha
The person that created Inuyasha is Rumiko Takahashi. She wrote the manga, which I think was started before the anime, not sure. So, if that is right, the anime is basically based off the manga.
